Talat Mahmoud’s Story – Rebuilding Hope Amidst Devastation

“I am Talat Mahmoud, a resident of Gaza, 46 years old, and a father of five children… I used to have a source of income, a home, and three of my children were studying at university.
But the war destroyed everything… We have no home, no job, and no source of livelihood left. Now, we have been displaced to Rafah for six months, living in tents with no semblance of a normal life. There is no hope left.
Please, help me rebuild my children’s lives and enable them to continue their education at any university outside of Gaza. The occupation destroyed everything in Gaza, even the schools and universities. Our plea for help rises above the screams of fear, death, and nightmares.”

“أنا طلعت محمود، أحد سكان غزة، عمري ٤٦ عاماً وأب لخمسة أطفال.. كانت لدي مصدر دخل وبيت، وثلاثة من أبنائي يدرسون في الجامعة. لكن الحرب جرفت كل شيء… لم يبق لنا منزل، ولا وظيفة، ولا أي مصدر للرزق. الآن، نجحت قسوة الظروف في إجبارنا على النزوح إلى رفح منذ ستة أشهر، حيث نعيش في خيام هشة لا توفر سوى ملجأ مؤقت، ولا يوجد أمامنا أي أفق للأمل في الحياة. أرجوكم، ساعدوني في إعادة بناء حياة أطفالي، وتمكينهم من مواصلة دراستهم في أي جامعة خارج غزة. الاحتلال جرّف كل شيء في غزة، حتى المدارس والجامعات، فدعوتنا للمساعدة تعلو فوق صرخات الرعب والموت، وكوابيس الليل.”
